Activities, Clubs, and Sports

Student Spotlight: Kayla Meyer, Frontier Academy Infographic

I am involved in NAHS (National Art Honor Society), NHS (National Honor Society), Coexist, Student Council, soccer, Youth Group, and Chamber Orchestra.

Career/College Plans

I am planning on going to the University of Northern Colorado, and majoring in Elementary Education. I am also interested in minoring in art or cello.

Favorite Subject

Art and orchestra are my favorite classes in school because I get to be creative, and I am passionate about these subjects. I feel like I learn the most in those classes because I can see how much I have grown.

Favorite Teacher

Picking one favorite teacher would be impossible because I have many teachers that I look up to! Mrs. Spahr is one of my favorite teachers, and she has been my Chamber Orchestra teacher for 3 years. She is one of my favorite teachers because she is super upbeat and has so much energy. She always pushes us to be better and work hard. She is inspiring for the type of teacher I want to be. Some of my other favorite teachers are Mr. Rosson and Mr. Ainsworth. They are my Student Council teachers, and they make everything we do fun and exciting. They truly do care about their students and our success. Mr. Duval, my P.E. teacher is also someone I look up to! He encourages me to be the best I can be, and he is supportive in my CrossFit goals.

Hobbies

Some of my hobbies are CrossFit, power lifting, art, photography, cello, soccer, and reading my Bible.

Favorite Food and/or Restaurant

My favorite food is cereal, and my favorite restaurants are Rodizio Grill and Texas Roadhouse.

Favorite Movie or Television Show

My favorite TV show is Outer Banks, and my favorite move has been Iron Giant since I was little.

Personal Goals

I want to make it to the CrossFit Games, become a CrossFit coach, and increase my skill in photography.

What Do You Like Best About Your School

I like that I grew up with all the kids at Frontier. I know all of them, and I like the community that is built just from knowing people for a really long time. And, I feel that our class has a bond!
