"An achievement I have had in softball is going to state last year and making it to regionals the year before. This made me proud because West has not made it this far in a long time."
What are your goals for this season?
"My goals for this season is to enjoy my senior year and to take state this year. I'd love to end my high school softball career with a bang!"
Who are your role models in your sport or life, and how have they influenced you?
"My mom is my biggest role model in life. She has always shown me by example what it's like to be a hard worker and to fight for what you want in life. She is my biggest support in everything that I do. I know no matter what that I can go to her."
How do you manage the balance between academics and athletics? What strategies have been most effective for you?
"The way that I have managed to balance academics and athletics is by communicating to my teachers with what days I have games, and setting up days for anything I need to make up. I know that communication is vital. I am also involved in theater, and I make sure to communicate with my softball coach and theater teacher when I can participate in each thing. I split my time as much as I can with softball and the upcoming 'Chicago' play."
How do you handle pressure and maintain mental resilience during high-stakes competition?
"I listen to music, and I make sure to keep my morale good. I am always cheering on my team and letting them know that we are doing our best. Keeping the team strong keeps myself strong."
What are your career or college plans after you graduate high school?
"This is my second year at CTE for cosmetology. I know that I want to continue with that career, but I also want to attend a University for a 4-year degree. I haven't quite decided what for, but I have it narrowed down."
What advice do you have for younger athletes who want to join your sport?
"Love the sport, play with your heart, enjoy every moment!"
Do you have any funny pre-game rituals or superstitions that you stick to?
"Blasting music in the car to hype myself up!"
If you were to participate in a talent show unrelated to your sport, what would your act be?
"Something involving theater or make-up."
