"Getting my 100th win, and beating tough kids all around the state, event out of state! Being a top guy in the state."

What are your goals for this season?

"To win a state title to give Greeley Central another champ."

Who are your role models in your sport or life, and how have they influenced you?

"Andrew Alirez is one of the biggest role models because I train at his club, and he has been coaching me for a little while now. He's made me the wrestler I am today."

How do you manage the balance between academics and athletics? What strategies have been most effective for you?

"Know that you have got to put work in the classroom first so you can be an athlete for the school, and know that you won't play if you don't participate!"

How do you handle pressure and maintain mental resilience during high-stakes competition?

"How I handle pressure is to know it's just another wrestling match. Adapt to the area around you so you're familiar with your surroundings, and just go get it."

What are your career or college plans after you graduate high school?

"I want to wrestle in college."

What advice do you have for younger athletes who want to join your sport?

"Know it's a very fun sport and enjoy it. Wrestling is a big part of my life. If you really enjoy this sport, it will be a big part of the younger athletes' lives. You will win and lose, but a loss does not define who you are."

Do you have any funny pre-game rituals or superstitions that you stick to?

"I love to collect wrestling shoes, so I try to go to every tournament and match with a different shoe."

If you were to participate in a talent show unrelated to your sport, what would your act be?

"Back flips and all kinds of flips with no gymnastic experience."
